Cambodia, with a surface of 181 035 square kilometres, is bordered to the North by Thailand and Laos, to the East and the South by Vietnam and to the South and West by the Gulf of Siam and Thailand. If the country total population is 13 million, Khmer people account for about 90% of citizens and ethnic groups represent 10%. Theravada Buddhism is the dominant religion. Cambodia is a constitutional monarchy with a government headed by the Prime minister HE Samdech Hun Sen. Besides tourism, the economic sector relies mostly on the garments and shoes industry accounting for around 200 factories and employing approximately 222 000 persons. The majority of the factories is located in the Phnom Penh area. First export destination is North America with 71% of the export total value, second is Europe with 17% and the balance Inter Asia.
